I've been assisting my Dad and the Company (Audio Resources) in various Live Event Setups since I was young, however I only started working officially when I got the the age of 15. I have helped in many different types of events ranging from shows, funfairs and more. The different venues that I have worked in is Victoria Theatre, Suntec Exhibition Hall, Stamford Arts Centre, University Cultural Center and more. 

I am a student in Republic Polytechnic pursuing the Diploma in Sonic Arts. Throughout the time I spent in this course and the modules I've taken, I've learnt many different skills in this field of study that I feel could be of good use. Skills that I have picked up are stuff like Live Sound Setups with use of DANTE, Recording and Mixing Songs with use of Adobe Pro Tools, use of Ableton Live and more. 

During the final year of my Polytechnic studies, I completed a six-month internship with Papillon Mediaworks, an Audio, Visual, and Lighting (AVL) rental company under the event management company Se7en Friday. Papillon Mediaworks provides professional AVL solutions for a wide range of events, including conferences, dinner and dance events, exhibitions, corporate functions, and live productions, supporting clients with high-quality technical production services.

Throughout my internship, I gained valuable hands-on experience working with professional AVL equipment in real-world event environments. The opportunity allowed me to strengthen my technical knowledge, improve my problem-solving abilities, develop effective teamwork and communication skills, and gain a better understanding of industry workflows. Working on various events also helped prepare me for the demands and expectations of the professional Audio, Visual, and Lighting industry.

Conferences, Dinner & Dance events, Small concerts, and Weddings.

Working across these diverse events allowed me to learn various approaches to designing and setting up audio systems based on the specific requirements of each event and venue. I was also trained in the proper handling, setup, and operation of different audio equipment and speaker systems, while learning industry best practices to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable deployment.

When there were no ongoing events, our time was dedicated to preparing for upcoming productions and improving our technical skills. Together with the full-time staff, the interns received hands-on training from the company's director on the proper procedures for efficiently carrying out event setups and teardowns. These workflows were practiced repeatedly to ensure they became second nature and could be executed consistently under real event conditions. 

In addition to training, we were responsible for preparing and packing equipment for upcoming events by identifying the appropriate speakers, cables, and other necessary equipment based on each event's technical requirements.

Of course when we are not out of events, we are either preparing or practicing for the events that are coming up. Us interns are taught by the Boss together with the Full-Timers on how to properly execute a Setup or Teardown in the most efficient way. We then will practice it multiple times until it is drilled into us. We also help out with the packing of equipment for upcoming events, for e.g (which speakers? how many cables?).
